Affordable After-School and
Summer Programs

The Martin Luther King Youth Center (MLKYC) in Bridgewater, New Jersey serves the community by preparing and empowering future leaders. We do this by providing quality, affordable after-school enrichment and summer camp programs.

About Us

Our facility was originally opened as a recreational youth center in 1972. It served as a safe haven for diverse children in the neighborhood to keep them off the streets. Over time, the center expanded to include educational and summer camp programs on a sliding income scale. It was meant for children from low-income families, who would not be able to afford such services.

Addressing Issues

During the pandemic, not all parents have had the option of working from home. At the Martin Luther King Youth Center, we exist to solve problems in our community. We achieve this by:

  • Providing a safe place for parents to leave their children while they are at work.
  • Help our kids with academics through tutoring.
  • Expose the children to extracurricular activities that will enrich their cultural, social, and developmental experiences.

Our Mission

The Martin Luther King Youth Center serves our community by providing quality affordable after school enrichment programs and summer camp designed to prepare and empower future leaders.

Extracurricular Activities

When the kids are finished with their homework, we conduct extracurricular activities with the use of computers and arts and crafts. This is a big part of our highly anticipated summer program.
